UNIC Beirut produced a mini-series of four episodes, 2 to 3 minutes each, to raise awareness on development priorities that concern people directly under the five pillars of the SDGs and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks, with Partnership being cross-cutting across the four other pillars.
Each episode focuses on one priority area under each pillar taking into consideration the Lebanese context and that of the countries UNIC Beirut serves, notably Jordan, Syria and Kuwait. The priority areas are women empowerment, under People; pollution and clean environment under Planet; entrepreneurship and disability inclusion under Prosperity; and bullying and hate speech under Peace. Through a subtle script that speaks the language of people, the four episodes depict one family facing challenges and suggesting ways to counter and resolve them.
This work featured famous and well-known actors and actresses from Lebanon, who showed great interest in collaborating with the UN to raise awareness on timely issues that affect all Arab communities. They have been instrumental in widely sharing the episodes with their followers on their social media platforms to help us amplify the messages.
The episodes were promoted on UNIC Beirut’s social media platforms consecutively on a weekly basis between March 21 and April 13 and have been shared with UNCG Lebanon, the Arab Community of Practice and the media in Lebanon for amplification.
