Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, held a meeting earlier on Wednesday at the Grand Serail with United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, who briefed him on the upcoming meeting scheduled next week between the UN Secretary-General and all heads and officials of UN political programs worldwide. Wronecka also discussed with Mikati the content of his message directed to the Secretary-General concerning Resolution 1701, and the situation in south Lebanon.
Moreover, Mikati met with the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon, Imran Riza, discussing development programs and the 2024 development plan, as well as economic and livelihood issues concerning Lebanese citizens, reaffirming the ongoing cooperation between the United Nations and the Lebanese state.
