UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubis met today with His Excellency Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri at Ain El-Tineh, following his arrival in the country on Monday.
“We had a good discussion on the strategic priorities of Lebanon and the UN in the coming period, including to safeguard Lebanon’s peace, security and stability,” Mr. Kubis said. The Special Coordinator underlined to the Speaker that “the UN is in Lebanon, for Lebanon, with Lebanon in line with its mandate.”
The UN Special Coordinator said he looked forward to a strong partnership with Speaker Berri.
